Okowa Tasks Deltans on Protection of Public Property

OkowaOkpe: Deltans has been called to imbibe the spirit of protecting public properties in their communities.

The call was made by the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa during the commissioning of a water project, built and donated by Apiri Hallowed Foundation, a nongovernmental organisation, to the Amu-Ogbogbo community, in Okpe Local Government.

The governor called on the people of the community to ensure that they keep and protect the project, by ensuring that it is not destroyed.

“Endeavour to keep this project alive by protecting it from destruction”. He said.

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, told the people that the government is poised to achieve the Prosperity for All Deltans, through its SMART Agenda program, by partnering with private bodies to drive the programs of the government.

He said that the present administration is existing for the people, driven with passion for their development and the development of the communities’ in spite of the economic condition of the nation. Stating that despite   the paucity of funds, the government had been able to build roads, hospitals, water projects and other infrastructures across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

Governor Okowa, while appreciating the Apiri Foundation, called on other individuals, and organisations to join the government in providing some of the needed social amenities in the various communities in the state, as no government can adequately provide the type of good developments required.

“There is no doubt that no Government on its own can adequately provide the type of good developments required in the state. This is the reason why individuals and organisations are very important in bringing developments”. He concluded.
