ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, his predecessor in office, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, industrialist, Mr Gabriel Ugbechie, are among those who are billed to attend the 10th Priestly anniversary celebration of a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. John Konyeke.
The event billed to take place this Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Asaba will commence at 10 am with the celebration of the Holy Mass.
According to a statement signed by the Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Lady Rosemary Ogabu, Secretary to the Committee, Mr Barth Ilechukwu and the event coordinator, Rev. Fr. Jude Iwediunor, Governor Okowa will be the Guest of Honour at the occasion which will have Dr Uduaghan as the Chairman while Rt. Hon. Oborevwori will be Special Guest of Honour.
Mr Gabriel Ugbechie, an industrialist and Managing Director of Rainoil is billed to be Special Guest of Honour while three traditional rulers, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, the Obi of Ejeme-Unor, HRM Obi Godwin Nzemeke and his Ejeme-Aniogor counterpart, HRM Obi Anthony Ogboli have given confirmation that they will be at the event.
The statement which was made available to newsmen in Asaba also, revealed that the event will feature the unveiling of an inspirational book, The Pilgrims’ Guide authored by Rev. Fr. John Konyeke.
“To the glory of God and the benefits of mankind, the entire Catholic faithful is happy to celebrate God’s goodness to humanity with the 10th Priestly Ordination anniversary of Rev. Fr. John Maduabunechukwu Konyeke and the presentation of the book, The Pilgrims’ Guide,” the statement read, adding, Mr Michael Mokwunye popularly known as Poppey Joe will be the presenter of the book, Ezinne Sussanna Prince and Ezinne Lady Colina Anazia will be Mothers of the Day.”
They emphasised, “His Lordship, the Most Rev. Dr. Michael Odogwu Elue, Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese of the Catholic Church will be the Chief Host at the occasion because, Fr. Konyeke, a Priest of the Order of Melchizedek has not hidden the fact that on Christ the solid rock he stands, as all other ground is sinking sand.”
“We are expecting the general public, especially, Christians to join the array of Catholic Priests, clergymen, personalities who have confirmed to us that they will grace the occasion to actively participate in the event and receive the blessings of that day,” the statement added.
