Ogwashi-Uku: Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has urged communities to freely donate land to government for developmental projects.
The Governor made the call at Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South local government area of Delta State during commissioning/ inspection of projects as part of activities lined up to mark his second year anniversary in office.
According to the Governor, his administration will not request for land from communities unless there was urgent need for such, maintaining that the proposed Agro-Industrial Park for Ogwashi-Uku will boost the socio-economic life of the people of the area and the state in general.
Speaking on the wild life park which government has acquired land for but, was yet to come on stream, the Governor affirmed, that the Commissioner for Lands and Survey and the Attorney-General of the state have been urged to look into the process of returning such land to the community.
He advised the people on the need to partner with them whenever government requests for land from the community, because it is a sacrifice to do so,
Urging that the parcel of land should be returned to the community because.
He further stressed that the agro industrial Park is real and should be taken seriously as this will attract more development in the state.
