On Okowa’s daughter running for senate, Aniagwu said that it was a commendable step, saying she was of sound mind, efficient and eminently qualified to run, stating: “We should look at ability and not sentiment. “

He clarified that her quest was the more justified on the ground that her part of Ika North East had not produced anyone in the house of assembly since the last 22 years of the fourth republic.

According to the information commissioner, justice, equity and fairness should be the overriding factors for determining representatives, adding: “We want the best of the best, and she has proved that she has content and character.”

On the insinuations that bad blood existed between Okowa and former Governor James Ibori, Aniagwu said: “The former governor, Chief Ibori and Governor Okowa relationships are still very much intact.”
