*** Inauguration of boards to facilitate achievements of their mandates

*** Increased number of private medical facilities registered in the state through increased drive

*** Reduction in quackery through increased supervision of registered facilities and closure of unregistered clinics

*** Improved supervision of private pharmacies and patent medicine vendors

*** Improved routine and random monitoring of nursing and maternity homes

*** Increase in out-patient and in-patient load in all health care facilities in d state

*** There is an ongoing personnel training in the health sector

DELSUTH

*** Will further live up to expectation with the assumption of duty of the new Chief Medical Director (CMD)

*** Governor’s visit gave a boost to finding solutions to the problems of the institution

Health Infrastructure

*** Infrastructural upgrades have been going on in all levels of care training institutions across the 3 Senatorial Districts, including primary health care, secondary health care and School of Nursing

*** The Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Review (MPDSR) committee has been inaugurated in line with the directives of the Federal Ministry of Health

*** Capacity building/training of personnel has been ongoing

*** Tuberculosis control-care of multi-drug resistant TB patients in Delta State has since commenced and the cure rate from 2013-2014 is 83%

*** Improved drug supply chain management leading to reduction in out of stock complaint

*** The state drug control committee has commenced work to reduce illegal use of drugs

Financial Management

*** The State Hospital Management Board is in the process of automating the collection of all its fees through an electronic system

*** The Save One Million Lives(SOML) programme, founded by the World Bank, has helped to facilitate service delivery

*** Enrolment of people into the health insurance scheme will soon commence

Investment opportunities

*** Public-Private partnership is being encouraged in several areas of health care system

*** Some Memoranda of Understanding (MoU)  are in the process of being signed. This involves local and International partners
