ABBI/Nigeria: In a bid to curtail political inequality and foster unity, the people of Okwele of Ward 8 in Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government area have formed a pressure group called, Okwele Political Force.
The Chairman of Ward 8, Abbi, Mr Yakubu Enuenwemba, who addressed the press during the occasion at Abbi, stated that the formation of the pressure group had become necessary to check acts capable of relegating the people of Okwele to the background.
Enuenwemba said that the people of Okwele cannot continue to fold their hands and watch while others negotiate their destinies, saying that they were equal stakeholders.
He added that Okwele people were not docile but predominantly members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and had not failed the party for once.
In his comment, Mr Matthew Obije said that it was time for the people of Okwele to take their destinies in their hands, adding that equity and fairness were the solution now, saying: “Enough of eating the crumbs from the master’s table.”
Earlier, Mr Ifeanyi Osaeji was introduced as the Chairman of Okwele Political Force, by Anionye Eka-loma.
Eka-loma described Mr Oseji as a man of truth, goal-getter, a fearless leader, accountable, and committed to the course of Okwele and a force to reckon with, adding that he was the Moses to deliver OKwele people from King Pharoah.
Mr. ifeanyi Oseji thanked the people for finding him worthy of leading them to the promised land, pledging to sacrifice whatever it would take to bring the needed equity to Ward 8, Abbi.
He said that Okwele people were not second class citizens in Abbi and as such nobody should treat them as one.
Oseji called on the people to give him the needed support, adding that the battle for the freedom of Okwele and checking the overbearing influence of external bodies demanded the collective will of the people.
