Olie Pledges Active Representation as Ugiliamai Residents Seek Two Link Roads

APC House of Assembly candidate for Ndokwa West Constituency, Chief Princewill Olie (third from left), joins Comrade Fidelis Egugbo and other guests at the burial ceremony of Egugbo’s father-in-law in Ugiliamai, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.

UGILIAMAI/Nigeria: Residents of Ugiliamai in Ndokwa West Local Government Area have called for the construction of two roads linking their community with neighbouring Ndokwa East, as All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate Chief Princewill Olie pledged to make the needs of his constituents a priority if elected.

The appeal was made on Saturday during the burial ceremony of the father-in-law of Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, at Ugiliamai.

Speaking at the gathering, community chief Ugochukwu Solomon Okenne urged Olie to support the construction of the Ugiliamai–Ossissa and Ugiliamai–Obikwele roads, describing them as important links between Ndokwa West and Ndokwa East local government areas.

Olie, who was addressing community leaders, political stakeholders and residents at Egugbo’s residence, said his background as an entrepreneur would inform his approach to legislative representation.

“I am an entrepreneur; I will never go to the House of Assembly in Asaba and come back unnoticed,” he said, drawing cheers from the audience.

The APC candidate said he was seeking more than a seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, adding that he intended to pursue legislation, economic opportunities and development initiatives that would benefit Ndokwa West.

He said he and his team had visited communities across the constituency to document residents’ needs, promising that their requests would receive serious attention.

Olie also acknowledged the role of Delta State Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme in his political journey and pledged to support initiatives that would benefit the people.

He expressed confidence in the APC’s electoral prospects, attributing his optimism to grassroots mobilisation and the support of party leaders. The outcome of the election, however, will be determined by voters.

The candidate was also at the event to commiserate with Egugbo and his family over their loss. He offered prayers for comfort and thanked the people of Ugiliamai for their reception.

In his response, Egugbo expressed appreciation to relatives, political leaders, colleagues in the media and other well-wishers who attended the burial to support the bereaved family.

Among those present were Comrade Goodluck Oforbruku, chairman of the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress; Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Comrade Nkem Nweke; Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Special Assistant on Media, Hon. Donatus Oji; Ogbueshi Lucky Okuji; Chief Ferdinand Ossai; Dr Henry Ojefia; Chief Chuks Eboagwu; Hon. Uche Uraih and members of the Exclusive Committee of Friends (EXCOFs), led by Mr Sunny Edoge.
