SAPELE/Nigeria: Senator Barrister Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege who is representing Delta Central at the National Assembly, has assured Nigerians that the issue of Herdsmen killings the country with impurity is been addressed promptly by the APC lead government.
Senator Omo-Agege who was in Sapele where he inaugurated the Executive Officers across the wards in Sapele for “Senator Omo-Agege again for 2019” told the crowd of persons of all progressive congress party at Okpe Grammar School Sapele venue of the inauguration ceremony that it is the duty of the police to arrest all Fulani Herdsmen killing Nigerians with AK 40/7 rift and never that of the president.
He said under the fire arms act of the country, no Nigerian has the right to carry AK 47/7 rift except such a person is issued the license by the president while it is the duty of the IG of police to issue license to carry any other kinds of rift, decrying the reason while the police would not go about arresting these people but go about arresting innocent Nigerians for minor issues.
He remarked that the issue on ground is the failure of law enforcement, i.e police who go about looking for innocent Nigerians to arrest for possessing guns, without looking for these Fulani herdsmen to arrest to curb their excesses and innocent killings in Nigeria.
He told the people that all those carrying AK 40/7 guns are from Libya who came to the country because of climate change in their country since land is no longer good enough for grazing remarking that even though Nigerians did not disallowed them, but it is the duty of the police to stop them from carrying arms during their grazing exercises, rather it is not Buhari’s duty to go about arresting Herdsmen in the bush or on the roads.
Senator Omo-Agege said neither Mr. President nor any other law makers in the country is happy with the unfortunate Fulani’s killings across the country, assuring that the APC lead government is making every frantic move to fight the situation head log.
He appealed to the people to always support Buhari’s government and APC, given the magnitude of Development he has brought to Nigerians, pointing out that the primary schools feeding, his (N power) empowerment programmes and other jobs creation initiatives which the Delta State government copied from, is very significant which other successive regimes had never attempted.
The law maker explained further that members of the People’s Democratic Party are condemning and sabotaging the president’s effort because he asked them to return the money they stole from the Nations Scoffers, if not, they are quite aware that he is doing the best for the country he said.
He solicited for the cooperating of all Deltans to support all APC candidates in the general elections, assuring that the party would ensure all loop holes of rigging from other parties are blocked while commending their efforts in the last local government election which he said the APC won across the state convincingly but were rigged out.
The Delta State House of Assembly Hopeful in Sapele under the platform of the APC, Hon. Moses Ogodo, commended Senator Omo-Agege for coming down to Sapele for the L.G.A and ward inauguration of the “Senator Omo-Agege again for Senator 2019” assuring that they in Sapele will ensure he is never disappointed as the new body will make him proud and support him for his return to the upper chamber.
He introduced all the boys from Ugboren who fought because they maintained their votes on the day of the local government election from that ward, and were arrested unjustly, adding “that since you Chief Omo-Agege is a man of your words and the defender of his people at all time whether rain or sun, we will always stand by you here in Sapele”.
