ASABA/Nigeria: In a gesture of gratitude and recognition, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme of Delta State has commended non-indigenes for their invaluable contributions to the state’s economic growth. Onyeme expressed his appreciation for the pivotal roles played by non-Deltans in transforming Delta State into a thriving economic hub, aligning with the M.O.R.E. Agenda of the administration led by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Deputy Governor stated this during a recent visit by members of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ukwuani Local Government Chapter, to the Government House in Asaba. He welcomed non-indigenes who had chosen to live and conduct their businesses in Delta, acknowledging their essential role in fostering economic prosperity and improving the quality of life for all residents.
Onyeme reflected on the progress made by both individuals and the government, a sentiment echoed by President Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ukwuani Local Government Chapter, Sir Precious Ifeanyichukwu. He commended the administration’s commitment to uplifting the lives of Deltans and recognized the positive impact of such efforts.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of continued positive contributions to the state’s growth, highlighting the collective benefits of fostering a culture of positivity and constructive engagement.
Furthermore, Onyeme received accolades for his non-discriminatory approach in awarding scholarships to undergraduates whose parents reside in the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency through his non-governmental organization, The Odoziani Foundation. He revealed that this inclusive approach had significantly heightened the competition for these scholarships, underlining the thirst for education and the desire for a brighter future among the youth.
In his address, President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ukwuani Local Government Chapter, Sir Precious Ifeanyichukwu, extended warm felicitations to Deputy Governor Onyeme for his successful inauguration, describing him as a “square peg in a square hole.” The group also commended Onyeme for extending the scholarship scheme to non-indigenes and pledged unwavering support and loyalty to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration in realizing the goals of the M.O.R.E. Agenda for the state.
