Onyeme Highlights Importance of Diligence for Police Officers

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, recently charged police officers to be diligent in their duties. This charge came after he decorated one of the police officers, Mr Haruna Barth Katuka, from the rank of Sergeant to Inspector. The ceremony took place in the Deputy Governor’s office and was brief but impressive.

During the ceremony, Sir Monday Onyeme emphasized the importance of commitment, dedication, and sacrifice in the line of duty. He encouraged the officers to always strive for honesty and straightforwardness, as these qualities are invaluable in life. The Deputy Governor expressed his belief that hard work and loyalty would be rewarded with promotions and career success.

The Convoy Escort Commander, ASP Christopher Dedan, referred to the Deputy Governor as a father figure to all officers in the convoy. He assured everyone that the newly promoted Inspector Katuka would be even more committed to his duties and would add value to the police force.

Inspector Katuka, in his response, expressed gratitude to God for his promotion and considered it an honor to be decorated by the Deputy Governor. He referred to Sir Monday Onyeme as their father, highlighting the Deputy Governor’s supportive and nurturing role towards the officers.

The Deputy Governor received assistance in performing the decoration from the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Christopher Ifeanyi Osakwe, and the Convoy Escort Commander, ASP Christopher Dedan.
