ASABA/Nigeria: Sir Monday Onyeme, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, has emphasized the importance of Christians providing continuous support for the growth of the Church. The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by his wife, Catherine, conveyed this message during the wedding ceremony of Ogochukwu Calista and Ekene Precious at Rhema City International Reconciliation Church in Okpanam, Delta State, which took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
In his address, he stated, “Christians should consistently contribute to the advancement of the body of Christ and the growth of the Church. As the Church expands, the children of God will also flourish.”
Congratulating the newlywed couple on their commitment to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife, the Deputy Governor urged parents to guide their children toward engaging in positive endeavors. He further revealed that Hon. Ekene Precious serves as the Councilor representing Ward 5, Onicha-Ukwuani, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Apostle Norbeth Imala, the officiating Minister, expressed his concern regarding the prevalence of rushed marriages that quickly end in separation. He emphasized that for a marriage to endure, it must be rooted in the fear of God.
He added, “When the fear of God is present in a marriage, it can withstand any circumstance. Therefore, always seek guidance from God. When both partners possess the fear of God, they are less likely to fall short of expectations. The more you prioritize God, the more fulfilling your marriage will be.”
Among the dignitaries at the ceremony alongside Sir Onyeme were Sir Christopher Osakwe, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Government House, Engr. Dan Ossai, the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, and Chief Lucky Ossai, among others.
