OLEH/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, on Saturday, called on Deltans to join hands with the state government in driving the development of the state through private investment and community-driven initiatives.
Sir Onyeme made the call while commissioning the newly established Sky Favour Hotel in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, describing the project as a significant contribution to economic growth, job creation, and the state’s vision of inclusive development.
He commended the owners of the hotel for their foresight and confidence in investing in Delta State, saying their action aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
“This administration has always believed that every development, investment, sustaining peace, and security in our state will encourage Deltans living outside to come back home and join the government in the developmental process of our state and community,” Onyeme said. “On behalf of the governor and the entire government, we appreciate this effort of establishing this hotel in Delta.”
The Deputy Governor reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to support and protect investors who choose to invest in Delta, noting that local participation is key to sustainable progress.
“Any Deltan who brings his or her money back to the state to invest will not have any reason to regret it. If you don’t develop your place, do not expect others to come and do it for you. When you show what you have done yourself, others will have more confidence in what you are saying,” he added.
Chairman of the occasion and Director-General, Revenue Monitoring, Tracking and Audit, Chief Mike Edegware, lauded the Oborevwori administration for its continued support of private enterprise, stressing that Delta’s stable and secure business environment has become a model for other states.
In a welcome address read on behalf of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sky Favour Hotel, Mr. Peter Idhugwe, by Barr. Favour Idhugwe, the management said the establishment of the hotel in Oleh was a deliberate effort to tap into the area’s tourism and cultural potential.
According to him, the hotel will not only provide hospitality services but also attract visitors to Isoko’s rich festivals and cultural events, thereby boosting local tourism and creating new opportunities for small businesses.
