AFOR/Nigeria: Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has called on affluent Deltans and private investors to channel resources into the development of their communities, stressing that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of transforming every part of the state.

Onyeme made the appeal on Saturday while commissioning the Jaden Eco Resort in Umuokpala Community, Afor, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, where he commended the Chief Executive Officer of the resort, Mr. Elvis Mador, for investing in his hometown and contributing to local economic growth.

The Deputy Governor noted that meaningful community development requires a collective effort involving government, individuals and the private sector.

According to him, every citizen has a role to play in advancing the development of their community and the state at large.

“I commend the Chief Executive Officer of the resort, Mr. Elvis Mador, for remembering to come home and invest because charity begins at home.

“I sincerely thank you for remembering where you come from and coming to invest in your community.

“That is the way to go; Deltans should emulate this example by investing in their communities as government alone cannot develop all the communities in our state,” Onyeme stated.

He expressed optimism that the investment would not only create employment opportunities and stimulate economic activities in the area but also encourage others to embark on similar ventures.

“My prayer is that this resort will yield great profit and continue to grow; may it expand into several branches in our Delta State,” he added.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Jaden Eco Resort and Villa, Engr. Elvis Mador, commended the Delta State Government for providing an enabling environment that supports business growth and investment.

Mador described Delta State as peaceful, secure and investor-friendly, noting that the prevailing atmosphere of peace and stability has continued to attract investments capable of driving sustainable economic development.

He expressed confidence that the hospitality facility would contribute to tourism promotion, job creation and economic expansion within the Ndokwa area and beyond.

The resort, located in Umuokpala Community, is expected to boost local tourism and serve as a hub for relaxation and recreational activities in the region.
