KWALE/Nigeria: Calls for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) took centre stage in Ndokwa West Local Government Area on Thursday as party leaders and stakeholders gathered during a thank-you visit by the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi.
The meeting, held at the residence of former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Mike Onah (rtd.), brought together political leaders from the federal constituency, with discussions focusing on party cohesion, grassroots mobilisation and preparations for future political engagements.
Addressing the gathering, Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, cautioned party members against creating divisions based on when they joined the APC, insisting that every member should be regarded as part of one political family.
He said the party’s strength in Ndokwa/Ukwuani would depend on its ability to remain united, urging members to avoid actions capable of weakening its structure at the grassroots.
The Deputy Governor also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ongoing development efforts in Ndokwa land, particularly initiatives aimed at improving electricity supply, while acknowledging the role of the Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Michael Anoka, in the sector.
Chairman of the APC in Delta North Senatorial District, Chief Dan Ossai, described the visit as an opportunity for Ezechi to appreciate party leaders and supporters while updating them on his activities in the National Assembly.
In his remarks, Rear Admiral Mike Onah (rtd.) appealed to party members to remain united and work towards strengthening the APC across the federal constituency, urging leaders to reconcile aggrieved members and sustain the party’s grassroots support.
Former member of the House of Representatives and Executive Secretary of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Barr. Sam Osasa, commended Ezechi’s representation in the House of Representatives, expressing confidence that continued collaboration among party leaders would benefit the constituency.
Responding, Ezechi said the visit was organised to thank party leaders and stakeholders for their support before and after his election, assuring them that he would remain committed to effective representation and constituency development.
The meeting attracted APC leaders, ward executives and stakeholders from communities across Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
