Operation keep Warri Clean: Church Youths Embark on Clearing Drainages

WARRI/Nigeria: In line with the Warri South Council Chairman, Hon. Michael Tidi’s directive on the sustenance of operation keep Warri and its environs clean as part of his cardinal point, the youth body of Avenue Baptist Church have keyed into the directive of the Warri south Council Boss in making Warri clean by embarking on clearing of drains in Warri.

The Avenue Baptist church youth and members of the church Protocol Committee came out massively to clear blocked drainages along Maduku Street which was blocked for a very long time and was causing flooding affecting several houses and the main road whenever it rains.

According to the Chairman Avenue Baptist Church Protocol Committee, Bro. Wilfred Ogheneochuko the area cleared open include the canal from maduku linking Avenue along Okumaga estate and other adjoining drains which have been  major challenges  to free flow of water in  the area.

Bro. Ogheneochuko assured that God willing members of ABC Protocol Committee will endeavour to continually carry on with the sanitation exercise in order to rid the area free from flooding, mosquitoes and reptiles.

He appealed to those dumping dirty on the water right of way to desist from doing so and appealed to the Warri South Council Environmental Sanitation Taskforce to take note of the area in order to sanction those dumping refuse indiscriminately into the canal.
