Sir Kenny Okolugbo
By Prince Terry Kay
Sir Kenny Okolugbo testimony during his stay as commissioner in Delta State Oil Producing Areas development Commission, DESOPADEC, has admonished public servants and political appointees to abhor self glorification and focus on the need to continually use their God given positions to improve the wellbeing of their constituents and less privileged folks.
it pays to put God first in all that we do and say, pointing out that every position that one occupies is an opportunity to effectively impact society and make our world a better place. No wonder he single handedly built a church with a functional bore hole for Umuebu Community dedicated by the Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese 5th June 2010. He further personally completed six classroom block for Umuebu community.
in his political career and accomplishments in life, and still counting, for the purpose of this write up we will only enumerate what he has done for associations & Ndokwa community as a whole. He was able to facilitate a lot of projects , like a brand new bus to Ndokwa Neku Union, Ukwuani foundation Union, and to Ndokwa Diocese Anglican communion, also to Ndokwa Hostcom, also to Ndokwa west Hostcom also to Ukwuani Host com. Facilitated 1M every year support to NNU, 500K every year to UFU. 1M every year to Ndokwa Women Association 250k every year to Ndokwa daughters and wife association.
This does not include the personal donations over the years to NNU, UFU, NWA, NDWA, he was given an award by NNU, NWA, NDWA etc
He facilitated brand new Hilux for Ukwuani Vigilante, Also for Ukwuani Divisional Police & Ndokwa West Divisional Police. A brand new Ambulance for Obiaruku General Hospital also for Kwale General Hospital.
And these are some of his antecedent and in the history of Desopadec in Ndokwa Nation his record is unbreakable till date. He believes politics and power are integral part of human advancement which is why elected representatives and political appointees must as a necessity see themselves as servants of the people as well as God’s vessels for the systematic and progressive transformation of societies; adding that service to the people must be selfless, not minding colour, race and gender.
Ndokwa nation was overwhelmed by his antecedents as Desopadec commissioner. Today the saddle as NNU Committee chairman to use his working experience to conduct a fair and credible election for Ndokwa nation for our APEX Group Ndokwa Neku Union was borne out of his leadership charisma which still speaks volumes in Ndokwa nation.
The task on him today is to ensure the unity of all interest in Ndokwa just like he said when he was the Chairman of the 5th Biennial Award ceremony of Ndokwa Daughters and Wives Association.
This same attribute we will expect to play as he leads the credible ten man team of Ndokwa sons and daughters to conduct the Elections.
