Opone Calls on Individuals and Corporate Organisations in Ndokwa to Help Cushion the effect of Delta Lockdown

KWALE/Nigeria: Chief Johnson Opone have called on well to do individuals and corporate organisation operating in Ndokwa to help the people of the area to alleviate the pains of the Lockdown order imposed by the state government to check the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Chief Opone, who is the President General of the Ndokwa apex social cultural organisation, Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), stated this while donating food items to the people of his community, and security agencies operating in the area.

Chief Johnson Opone, while making the donation in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, he stated that it was to cushion the effect of the economic downturn occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic in the area.

He commended the Delta State Government for taking urgent steps to check the spread of COVID-19 in the state with the stay at home order for two weeks, saying it’s not punishment, but for the good of the people.

It would be recalled that Chief Opone has been in the forefront of reaching out and assisting Ndokwa communities in time of need including construction of cottage hospital at Utagba-Uno, among others.

The benefiting Communities are Umusadege, Umuseti, Umusam, Isumpe, Umudeli, Ogbeani, King/ Palace chiefs, Umu-Ada and Okwas

It was gathered that the less privileged and vulnerable in the society including all the security formations such as the army, police, prisons, civil defence, anti-cult, NNU exco family and workers.

The items he donated were 80 bags of 50kg rice to six communities of Utagba-Ogbe and security agencies in the Kingdom.
