SAPELE/Nigeria: An Ambassor of peace and member Delta State Security Water and Land (DSSWL) Hon. Aroni Oputu has declared his intention to contest for the House of Assembly in Warri North Constituency. Speaking with newsmen in Sapele, Oputu noted that he have decided to bow to the pressure of his people to represent them in the State House of Assembly come 2019. Noting that he is embodiment of peace between the Ijaws and Itsekiris in the Warri North Local Government Council and the Niger Delta Region.
According to the House of Assembly hopeful. “I have three point agenda, which is, Youth Empowerment, Equal Representative and Massive Development especially the rural communities across the Warri North Constituency. As a servant of the people that’s what am going to do as their lawmaker.”
When asked which party he is contesting for his House of Assembly ambition. He said, “I am contesting under my great party, which is the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. And I promise to make the difference as an embodiment of peace between the Ijaws and the Itsekiris in the Warri North. And as a servant of the people I will carry everybody along, and as an Ambassador of peace their will be no any form of discrimination between the Ijaws and Itsekiris in the Warri North Local Government.
Oputu seized the opportunity to visit party leaders and leaders of thought of both ljaw and Itsekiri in Warri North Local Government Council. Which is the immediate past chairman of Warri North Local Government Council, Hon. Francis Maku, Chief Lucky Tiemo PDP leader, Chief Otimenyin Adams PDP leader and Sir. E. K. Gbaragada Itsekiris leaders of thought. The leaders described Oputu as a true leader, the man of the people and an embodiment of peace between the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri North Local Government Council noting that he is the right man to represent the good people of Warri North Constituency in the State House of Assembly come 2019. The leades advice him to carry everybody along as a servant of the people and as an advocate of peace in the Niger Delta.
