WARRI/Nigeria: The Organic Waves Movement has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in 2027, arguing that continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing projects and government programmes.

The group’s Convener and Leader, Chief Thompson Robert-Fuoye, announced the position during the movement’s participation in the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, and the subsequent rally in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area.

Robert-Fuoye said the movement’s endorsement was based on what it described as development initiatives by the two administrations in education, healthcare, infrastructure and security.

He argued that projects and policies already initiated by the Federal and Delta State governments should be sustained and completed to enable residents to benefit from the investments.

“We believe that continuity is important at this stage. There are ongoing projects, policies and programmes that need to be sustained and consolidated for the people to enjoy their full benefits,” he said.

The movement’s leader identified the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the interventions it considered significant, particularly for students facing financial difficulties in pursuing higher education.

He cited Governor Oborevwori’s disclosure at the Oleh rally that 17,500 students from Delta State had benefited from the scheme, describing access to education financing as an important support for young people.

Robert-Fuoye also listed the Federal Government’s reported 17.55-kilometre access road project leading to the Second Niger Bridge in Asaba among infrastructure interventions he believed could improve regional connectivity and economic activities.

In the health sector, he referred to the Aboh Primary Healthcare Centre in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, which he said was commissioned under the national IMPACT programme, as an example of efforts to improve primary healthcare services.

On projects in Delta State, Robert-Fuoye highlighted developments in Isoko nation, including the establishment of the College of Health Technology at Ovrode and investments at Southern Delta University, Ozoro.

He described education and technical skills development as important to preparing young people for employment and other economic opportunities.

The movement also identified the Emevor-Orogun Road as a major infrastructure project, stating that more than eight kilometres had been completed while the state government was processing the remaining 15.7 kilometres.

Other projects mentioned by the group included the Olomoro-Igbide Road, Otekpo Road in Ellu, Isoko North, and the Asaba-Ase-Uzere Bridge, which it said would improve movement and economic activities in the benefiting communities.

Robert-Fuoye further pointed to the proposed dualisation of the Oleh Roundabout-Iyede Road and the proposed Federal Medical Centre in Oleh as projects with potential significance for the Isoko area.

“These projects are important to our people. What matters now is that the necessary commitment is sustained to ensure that ongoing projects are completed and that the expected benefits reach the communities,” he said.

On public health and safety, he acknowledged the Delta State Government’s reported response to incidents of gas leakage and oil spillage in Uzere, including a directive for medical outreach services for affected residents.

He also welcomed the State Executive Council’s reported approval for the establishment of police divisional headquarters across the state’s 25 local government areas, describing the proposal as an effort to strengthen security infrastructure.

Beyond its assessment of government projects, the Organic Waves Movement called on its members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Robert-Fuoye said the group’s campaign for continuity would extend beyond political rallies to communities and households, where members would engage residents on the policies and programmes of the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations.

The movement’s endorsement adds to the political mobilisation around the APC’s 2027 campaign in Delta State, with the group maintaining that the completion of ongoing projects and the continuation of existing policies should be central considerations in the next election.
