Asaba: Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi has charged community leaders and host communities in Delta State to always coexist peacefully with multinational companies in their locality to enhance holistic development of the area.
Osanebi gave the charge today when he received the new leadership of the Abalagada community development committee (CDC), led by Comr. Emmanuel Chukwuma.
He congratulated the Comr. Chukwuma led committee and charged them to always consider the tool of dialogue and peaceful engagement in all their endeavors to avoid rancor and consolidate on peace.
“I want to congratulate Comr. Emmanuel on his election as CDC chairman, and to welcome all of you to my place today. I would want to quickly remind us that only Cooperation and love, can guarantee the progress of any community”. He said
He further added: “if you don’t love your selves there’s no way progress can can come”.
The Deputy Speaker harped on unity and love within the new leadership and the community in general and challenged them to always harmonize their interests before they appear before oil companies exploring in their localities.
He also thanked the community for voting for him and PDP during the last general election and assured the community that before the end of the week, he would send another ‘ thank you package’ to the community.
Osanebi promised to always put in his best to ensure infrastructural turn around of the area, noting that the whole constituency needs massive infrastructural development.
The leadership of the community had earlier visited the deputy speaker, to seek his opinion on issues affecting peace and development of the community and her relations with multinationals in the locality.
