Asaba: Reports emanating from the Friday Osanebi Foundation has it that the second tranche of the foundation’s scholarship programs will be paid by February 2017.
According to the Chairman of the Foundation, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, the yearly N10, 000, 000.00 fund to indigent and intelligent Delta Students will be released to qualified students by next month.
Sequel to the foregoing, students under the Foundation’s Scholarship Scheme, especially undergraduate students are expected to reach the Foundation as quick as possible with their 2016/2017 academic session report.
The first tranche of the Scholarship award to Deltans, with Anioma students predominating the scheme was given March, 2016 at the Cabana Hotel, Asaba, after a screening examination that was conducted by the Foundation with the support of the Delta State University, Abraka.
The program which witnessed the disbursement of cheques of varying amounts, books and other study materials to undergraduate and post primary education students, was a call to diligence, discipline and hard work for the one hundred students.
As a rule and standard, continual enlistment to benefit from the scheme was predicated on submission of an academic report of not less than an upper credit, either in the university or polytechnic grading system.
Freshers are expected to be injected into the scheme, to replace lazy students that were unable to meet the 3.5 or 3.0 benchmark.
