Oshimili South Boss Intimidates Members of NATA.

The Oshimili South Local Government Council Chairman Barr.Obusom Chuks has been alleged to intimidate the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) Delta State Chapter led by Comrade Ifeanyi Abanum who disclosed this to newsmen recently at his office in the Mechanic Village, Asaba.
The association alleged that the LGA Chairman in collaboration with some elements called agents have invaded the mechanic village with caterpillars and bulldozers, destroying people’s workshops who by law are occupants of the mechanic village, adding that the area was mapped out by the past administration to accommodate road side mechanics that are constituting dirtiness in the streets of the capital city, acting on the beautification policy of the state government that gave rise to mechanics gathering together in a confined area.
The chairman of the association Comrade Ifeanyi Abanum decline the treatment he received from the said chairman of Oshimili south and how the police detained him for over one month in respect of the village, adding that the rightful owners of the land Umujiaga village have produced documents and the survey plan as was compiled in 1928, therefore the said land was given to the state government for the purpose of creating a mechanic village and no payment was made in respect of the land, then 1984 the land was allocated to the then chairman who is now an obi of the Umujiaga village in Asaba, he said that despite the petitions they submitted to the commissioner of police, it was turned down, especially the protest notification letter which they sent to CP, was not rather an order to stop the protest came from police boss.
