Osuoza Urges Corps Members to Shun Desperation for Quick Wealth

ASABA/Nigeria: Corps members have been counselled to resist the allure of get-rich-quick schemes or desperate moves for greener pastures that could derail their promising futures.

This caution was imparted by Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, during a farewell event held in honour of outgoing corps members who served within the ministry.

Speaking at the send-off for Batch B, Stream 2 corps members who had completed their one-year mandatory national service, Dr Osuoza urged the young graduates to invest in digital skills and to pursue meaningful and productive ventures. He emphasised that by engaging in such pathways, they could secure a bright and economically stable future.

Represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Theresa Oliko, Dr Osuoza highlighted key virtues – humility, hard work, tolerance, self-respect, and honesty – as foundational qualities that would help the corps members realise their dreams. He further underscored the necessity of adapting to the evolving workplace, pointing out that continuous learning and self-development are essential in today’s digital era.

“Self-improvement is the key to the future,” Dr Osuoza asserted. “Upgrade your digital skills to stay relevant in this fast-paced digital world. Challenges will arise, but let them fortify your resolve to persevere and conquer any obstacles.”

In response, Miss Mmesoma Agu, speaking on behalf of her fellow corps members, expressed gratitude to the ministry and the Delta State government for fostering a supportive environment throughout their national service. She celebrated the accomplishments of the corps members and urged them to press forward with resilience in the face of challenges.

The event’s highlights included a brief parade by the departing corps members and the presentation of parting gifts by the Permanent Secretary, bringing a sense of closure to a year of dedicated service.
