WARRI/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, has visited a session of the Ogbe-Ijoh market that was gutted by fire four days ago in Warri South council area, assuring the victims that government would assist them to cushion the effect of the fire accident on their live.
Otuaro, who was led to the market to ascertain the level of damage caused the fire incident by the Warri South Council Chairman, Dr Michael Tidi, said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has already set up modality in place to unravel the root cause of the fire.
Otuaro also urged the market women to ensure the recurring fire incident in the market is avoided in the future.
He commended Dr Tidi, chairman of the council for his quick response to the fire incident, stressing that state government would liaise with council and relevant authorities to rebuild the market.
“I am here to see the level of damage done by the fire accident. We are very much concerned about the recurrent fire incident in this market.
“Government is going to do something about the plight of the women who lost their goods in the fire incident,” Otuaro said.
