ABUJA/Nigeria: Youths leaders from Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality have described as untrue social media publications that the protest to Abuja was mainly against the Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government.
Speaking to Ndokwa Reporters from Abuja, Comr. Lucky Onyia, the Youth leader of the Ndokwa Neku Union, (NNU), which is the main body of the youths from the area, said their protest to Abuja was to register their anger against the marginalisation of Ndokwa nation in the development plan of the governments, despite the huge contribution of the area to the national economy.
According to him, the impression that they came to Abuja to protest against the Senator Representing Delta North at the national Assembly and the Special Adviser to the president on Amnesty Programme is wrong.
“Our coming to Abuja is to register our frustration of marginalising Ndokwa in the scheme of things in the country, which is our main mission. Issue of Amnesty, could be part of it, but Ndokwa need to be given its fair share in the running of this country”. He said.
Mr Onyia condemned those that had been misinterpreting their mission, and called them enemies of Ndokwa People.
“Those carrying out such misinformation are the enemies of Ndokwa. Their paymasters had also paid them to threaten my live. But we will not relent”.
According to him, he said the protest is also demanding for the appointment of Ndokwa person as one of the expected ministers as the president is set to reshuffle his cabinet, because it is the right of an Ndokwa person just like any other Nigerian.
The protest which was held in Abuja on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 took the protesters to the Presidential Villa, where they were received by the Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina
