SAPELE/Nigeria: The Okpe Youth Council, OYC, has condoled with the the family of the state Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, following the recent demise of his father, Chief Arthur Okowa, describing the late father of the governor as “a great man in the state who has contributed in no small measure to the socio economic development of the state.”
In the same vein, the youths have also condoled with the family of the late Majority leader of the Delta State House of assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere, following the recent demise of the law maker, who, they said, “Until his death was one of the most vibrant personalities in the house.”
They prayed that “May God grant the two families the fortitude to bear the lost,” adding that the fallen men would be missed by the entire state and the country in general.
According to them, “we call on Nigerians to emulate the virtues of these two heros of our time, contributing their best to the general growth of the soceity to make humans live in a better society.”
“While the governor’s father stood for the success of democracy in the state and strongly standing and giving good advice to his son, the law maker ensured that the state house of assembly is a model in the country in the business of law making.”
“Also, while Chief Arthur Okowa extended his good work to the traditional society, and was well appreciated by all the people, the law maker was very sound and his efforts in the social and infrastructural lives of his people were well known and recognised by his people.”
They urged Deltans not to be deterred by the deaths of both men but to stand and remain focus in the task of moving the state ahead for the good of every one.
The youths who spoke through their president, Comr. Harrison Ekeleme described the loses as demystifying as it was capable of truncating the process of good governance but urged all Deltans to continue to be patriotic with the state government.
