IBADAN/Nigeria: In a formal declaration by the Oyo State Government, the presentation of staff of office and coronation ceremonies for the new Aseyin of Iseyin, Ọba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola, Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu I, and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Ọba Afolabi Ghandi Laoye, Orumogege III, has been confirmed.
According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Aseyin coronation is scheduled for December 14, 2023, while the Soun’s coronation will follow on December 19, 2023.
To ensure the success of these ceremonies, the state government has established a coronation committee led by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi. Other members of the committee include Mr. Segun Olayiwola, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters; Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Prince Dotun Oyelade, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation; and Retired Commissioner of Police Sunday Odukoya, serving as the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security.
The committee has actively engaged with coronation committees from both palaces over recent weeks and conducted thorough inspections of the event venues.
In a joint statement, government representatives affirmed, “All preparations have been made for these significant events.”
The government also took the opportunity to urge the public to extend full support towards ensuring the success of these momentous occasions.
