Oyo State Government to Establish Integrity Clubs in Public Schools

ASABA/Nigeria: The Oyo State government has unveiled plans to establish Integrity Clubs in all public schools across the state, a move aimed at instilling strong moral values and civic responsibility in young students. The initiative will be spearheaded by the Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED), in partnership with the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB).

This development was disclosed during an advocacy visit by the Director General of OYMASED, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas, to the Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, at his office. During the visit, Dr. Thomas emphasized the importance of reaching students in their formative years to instill the right morals and responsibilities that would guide them throughout their lives.

Dr. Thomas explained that OYMASED’s mission is to drive fundamental changes in attitudes and behaviors through carefully designed programs. “Our goal is to empower the residents of Oyo State by promoting productive activities, instilling core values, and providing comprehensive education and mobilization efforts. We work through various departments to ensure these objectives are met, contributing to a brighter future for the state,” he stated.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration with key agencies like OYOSUBEB to achieve these goals. “We are committed to working closely with OYOSUBEB to develop frameworks that will facilitate the education and orientation of students, including the establishment of Integrity Clubs in schools,” Dr. Thomas added.

In response, Dr. Adeniran commended OYMASED for its proactive approach in engaging young people, particularly those in public schools. He noted that the Integrity Clubs would play a crucial role in educating students on civic responsibilities and societal values, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state’s educational system.

“We are always open to collaborations that enhance the learning experience in the basic education sector. OYMASED is indeed a strategic partner in our efforts to promote sustainable socio-economic development in Oyo State,” Dr. Adeniran affirmed.

The introduction of Integrity Clubs in schools is expected to significantly impact students’ understanding of their roles as responsible citizens, fostering a generation that upholds the values necessary for the state’s continued growth and development.
