OYO/Nigeria: The Oyo State Public Primary Schools Third Term Unified Examination for the academic year 2022/2023 commenced on Wednesday, witnessing a rigorous monitoring process overseen by officials from the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB). The Coordinating Director of OYOSUBEB, Mr. Jacob Dairo, led the monitoring team, which visited schools across various zones in the State, including Ibadan metropolis, Oke-ogun, and Ibarapa.
Mr. Dairo expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for ensuring the prompt release of funds, which played a vital role in ensuring a smooth and well-organized conduct of the examination. The availability of funds allowed for the timely preparation and printing of question papers and answer booklets.
One of the main objectives behind implementing a unified time-table for the examination was to ensure consistency and synchronization in conducting the tests across all schools in the State. Mr. Dairo, who heads the Schools Services department of the Board, urged school head-teachers to strictly adhere to the unified time-table to maintain uniformity throughout the examination process.
During the inspection of schools in Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan, Mr. Dairo expressed his satisfaction with the level of preparedness demonstrated by both schools and students. He also lauded the Oyo State Government’s meticulous arrangements in printing unified question papers, which contributed to the seamless organization of the examination.
The unified examination system is expected to enhance the overall performance of pupils across the State. Joining Mr. Dairo in the monitoring team were Mrs. Olaide Ladipo, the Director of Standard and Quality Assurance, as well as Deputy Directors and staff members from the Board.
Some of the schools visited during the monitoring exercise included Methodist N5 Agodi, Ibadan; HLA Special Basic School Agodi; HLA School 1 & 2, Agodi; Methodist E9 School 2, Agodi; and IMG Basic School, Orita-aperin, among others. The officials ensured that the examination process was conducted efficiently and transparently in each school they visited.
