IBADAN/Nigeria: The Oyo State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has revised the timetable for its upcoming computer-based tests (CBT) due to a potential nationwide protest slated to commence on August 1, 2024.
Initially, the CBT examinations for job seekers were scheduled for July 29 to August 2, 2024, as announced by TESCOM Chairman, Pastor Akinade Alamu, in Ibadan. However, to avoid any disruption from the anticipated protests, the commission, in collaboration with the management of the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre (DLC) and other partnering agencies, decided to compress the examination period to three days.
Pastor Alamu confirmed that the revised schedule will see the exams taking place from Monday, July 29 to Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He assured that all necessary arrangements have been made with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth process for the candidates.
“The DLC has agreed to provide additional facilities, personnel, and logistical support to facilitate the tests over three days,” Alamu stated after a tripartite meeting with all concerned parties.
Candidates are advised to frequently check their phones for updates, as notifications are being sent via text and email. The updated timetable is also available on the Oyo State job portal.
The revised examination schedule is as follows:
Monday: Biology, Islamic Religious Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Literature in English, Mathematics, French, Commerce, Chemistry, and Business Studies.
Tuesday: English Language, Finance and Accounting, Government, Economics, Computer Science, Guidance and Counseling, Physics, and Music.
Wednesday: Agricultural Science, Arabic Studies, Social Studies, Business Science and Technology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Yoruba, Geography, History, Home Economics and Nutrition, and Physical Health Education.
