PDP PRIMARIES: Ned Beats Osaji With 242 Votes To Clinch Delta North Ticket for

ASABA/Nigeria: The Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State had continued to be smooth with no violence so far experienced during the exercise, as the party today, May 23 2022 conducted primaries in the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

In the North, which was the exercise was between Billionaire and Former House of Representative member, Prince Ned Nwoko, who contest with another successful Deltan from same local government Mr. Paul Osaji.

The exercise which was witnessed with a friendly environment with the two aspirants siting together, was midway briefly disrupted with heaven wind, which carried come of the canopies and chairs.

The Delta North Which is made up of 9 Local Government Council Areas, had a total of 312 delegates, but accredited 310 for the election.

At the end of the election, Ned Nwoko polled 242 votes to defeat Paul Osaji who scored 67 votes.

At the end of the primary, an elated prince Nwoko promised the people of good representation if elected to the senate in 2023.

He also thanked the party, and the delegates for having confidence in him.

The Delta North Senatorial District is currently occupied by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, who defeated Nwoko.

Similary the situation in delta South and Central was of peaceful conduct with Michael Diden, who resigned his position as Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, DESOPADEC, to contest the seat clinched victory with 176 votes.

The former House of Assembly Member dusted a former Warri Federal Constituency representative, Daniel Reyenieju and Ayodele Oghogho Othihiwa, who scored 49 and 46 votes respectively.

Senator Ighoyota Amori also won the ticket in with delegate vote of 142 against his opponent Chief John Nani, who polled 123.

With this concluded it’s expected that the Governorship Primary come up on Wednesday May 25, 2022 will be peaceful.
