PDP Primaries: Ochor Collects Certificate of Return, Thanks Ukwuani Delegates

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House of Assembly Primary Election, Ukwuani State Constituency, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, had congratulated the party, and delegates for an orderly process.

Speaking after he had collected his certificate of return from the party secretariat, in midst of his campaign team, and supporters, said his victory as the flag bearer was for the party.

He emphasised that the smooth conduct of the election, shows that the party had come of age, as it was a family contest.

Hon Ochor recalling the assurance of the leadership of the party in the state, and rechoing of the governor, that they will allow for free and fair primaries, thanked the chief returning officer, Chief James Agwoye, the State Commissioner for Works,  for keeping to that promise.

“As we can see, the exercise was very orderly, it was smooth. This was in line with the statement of the Party Chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, and his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. I thank the leadership of our great party, the governor for keeping to their words, and the returning Officer, for a great job.”

While praising the good conduct of the primary, he thanked his co-contestant, delegates and supporters for their maturity during and after the exercise, and called on them to join hand to achieve victory for the party come 2019.

“I will also use this opportunity to thank my co-contestants for their maturity, during and after the exercise, however, the PDP is our party. In this election, the victory was not for the party, all will need to do now is to pull our resources to get the final victory at the polls.”

One of aspirants, Barr. Kennedy Nwashindi, speaking at the end of the exercise congratulated the winner, and said the exercise was a very transparent one, as the party had promised to allow for equal opportunity for all aspirants.

“I congratulate Hon Ochor the winner, I congratulate our great party for a peaceful and orderly exercise.”

The state constituency primary that was conducted on Thursday, October 4, 2018, saw the emergence of Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, scoring the highest votes of 68, as against that of his classiest rival, the incumbent member representing the area, Hon Alphonsus Ojo.
