ASABA/Nigeria: Chief Dan Orbih, the South-South Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing him as a shining example of leadership, celebrating his loyalty to the party and his remarkable accomplishments in just a few months in office.
Orbih and the South-South zonal working Committee of the PDP were in the state to officially congratulate Governor Oborevwori on his electoral victory and its subsequent affirmation at the election petitions tribunal. Orbih commended the governor’s wealth of experience, which, as the immediate past Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, set the stage for a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislature.
In his remarks, Orbih stated, “Now the elections are over and it is time for you to deliver on your campaign promises, and we have observed with satisfaction the steps you have taken since you took over. You are building roads and bridges and you have shown a great example of what leadership is all about.”
Highlighting the deteriorating state of federal roads in the South-South region, Orbih praised Governor Oborevwori for not neglecting the critical federal roads in the state, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to serving the people of Delta. Orbih called on other state governments to follow the governor’s leadership example and address the dire state of federal roads in the region.
Orbih also shared optimism about the upcoming gubernatorial election in Bayelsa, stating that with Governor Douye Diri’s sterling performance, the PDP was well-positioned to retain the state.
He reiterated the significance of the South-South region to the PDP, assuring that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and his M.O.R.E Agenda would bring significant benefits to the people of Delta.
Governor Oborevwori, in response to the praise and support, thanked the PDP hierarchy and affirmed his dedication to providing sterling leadership for the people who had entrusted him with their mandate. He commended Orbih for his unwavering support of Governor Douye Diri’s re-election in Bayelsa, recognizing the remarkable progress and development in the state.
Governor Oborevwori stated, “Here in Delta State, we have done a lot in the last four months of our administration. We have completed and inaugurated some projects in the state, and there are many ongoing projects that we are executing.” He assured Deltans that his administration would continue existing projects and initiate new ones to advance the state’s development.
Moreover, the governor emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, highlighting the initiation of major projects in collaboration with Julius Berger, which would significantly improve the state’s road networks. He also pledged to address the challenges faced by the state’s youth and create a peaceful atmosphere in Delta State.
With Orbih’s commendation and Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to delivering on his promises, Delta State seems poised for progress and development under the leadership of the PDP.
