ASABA/Nigeria: The Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has hailed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its resounding success in the recent Local Government Council Elections. He attributes this triumph to the growing strength of the party under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Speaking as a guest on Trend 100.9 FM Radio in Asaba, Dr. Oghenesivbe emphasized the significance of election victories, noting that they are a result of a united, active, and productive party structure with a robust membership base, bolstered by the party’s and candidates’ achievements over time.
“The PDP and its structures worked diligently, campaigning extensively as evidenced by credible reports from traditional and social media,” Dr. Oghenesivbe said. “In contrast, opposition parties in Delta State appeared unprepared, with weak structures and a poor membership base.”
Dr. Oghenesivbe called on opposition party leaders to accept reality and acknowledge their defeat, praising the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Isoko North Local Government Area, Apostle Joshua Ogbodo, for graciously congratulating the victorious PDP candidate, Prince Godwin Ogorugba.
He assured that Governor Oborevwori will continue to focus on meaningful development, ensuring opportunities for all Deltans, supporting poor families and people with disabilities, and advancing mega infrastructure and socioeconomic development across the state’s three senatorial districts.
Commending the governor’s leadership, Dr. Oghenesivbe said, “Governor Oborevwori has created an enabling and conducive atmosphere for credible, transparent, free, and fair elections. His support for local government council autonomy is unprecedented, reflecting his commitment to democratic principles.”
Dr. Oghenesivbe expressed his delight in being part of the governor’s success stories, attributing the remarkable achievements within the governor’s first year in office to the PDP’s landslide victory in the council elections. “The MORE Agenda is fully on course, and I am confident that Governor Oborevwori will continue to enhance his performance across all sectors of the state economy,” he concluded.
