Permanent Secretary Eulogises Transformational Leadership, Development Of Okowa Administration In Delta

KWALE/Nigeria: The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), Mr.  Augustine Chukwuma has lauded Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for the transformational leadership and unprecedented development in the state especially in all key areas of the economy.

Chukwuma made the commendation in his Onitcha-Ukwuani county home, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state while speaking with journalists after celebrating  the 2021  Ike-Onitcha / Onitcha-Ukwuani  new yam and Amanwulu  festivals .

While commending the governor for the priority attention to the education sector in the state Mr. Chukwuma who is the Onochieze 1 of Onitcha-Ukwuani described culture as critical aspect of the people’s heritage.

The PPEB Permanent Secretary, who said that the Amanwulu and the new yam festivals were being celebrated in the five clans of Onitcha-Ukwuani in order to foster unity and peaceful coexistence among the people, stated that Amanwulu festival was intended to recognise commitment and patriotism of great warriors towards the protection of the community from external invasion.

He noted that the new yam festival was a period to appreciate God’s abundant blessings and to show love to one another, adding that it was incumbent on him to celebrate the festivals as one of traditional chiefs in the community.

Chukwuma strongly recommended the preservation of traditions and customs so as to avoid unnecessary extinction of their cultural heritage, just as he enjoined youths to be more be productive in life.

The Permanent Secretary, who described youths in every society as critical agent of positive change, admonished them to shun social vices and embrace things that could enable them add value to their lives and impact positively on the society.

He said that the five Onitcha-Ukwuani clans were known over the years for their peaceful dispositions and hardworking spirit, just as the PS pledged the continued loyalty of the people of the area to the Okowa led administration.
