ASABA/Nigeria: With the personal announcement by the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa that he, and his wife, Dame Edith Okowa had tested positive to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, messages of recovery had continued to be sent by friends, well wishers in Delta and beyond.
Reacting to the development, a frontline Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, and Managing Director of CPU Construction LLT Nigeria Limited, Engr Philips Chukwumah Ugbomah, had joined numerous Deltans to pray for the quick recovery of the first family of the state.
In a statement, he stated that its on record that to ensure that the spread of the virus is curtailed, the governor started early preparation, by setting up isolation/Treatment centres in the three senatorial districts of the state, and started early awareness campaign to educate the people on the need to observe all medical guidelines given by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
He pointed out that it’s only a man of faith, and who love of his followers that will inform them of his challenges, especially health challenges, as he was bold to first announce to Nigerians that the daughter, who is a frontline worker against COVID-19, had tested positive, and they had gone on self isolation because of their contact with her.
He pointed out that the recent announcement on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, that he and the wife had tested positive to the virus, by the governor, shows a mature mind who knows that the people who he is leading must at any time be informed of the state of things as it affects the family.
“Just a week ago, the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa announced to the state that a member of his family had tested positive to the Novel coronavirus, and he and the first lady had gone on self Isolation, he had again announced that they had tested positive. This can only come from a matured mind, a governor with the understanding of leadership, who love his people.”
He stated that, the governor had done much on the war against the pandemic, as he had done with other issues that concerns the development of the state. He called on Deltans to continue to pray for their quick recovery, as he and his family will continue to do same for the governor to get back to work to achieve the Stronger Delta Dream.
“I, my family and associates prays for their quick recovery, and enjoin Deltans and friends of Delta to continue to pray for their quick recovery, so that the job of building the Stronger Delta Dream will be achieved.” He emphasized.
