OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: Reports from Ogwashi-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area and base of a Federal Prison, indicates that there might have been a jail break yesterday, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 but for the vigilance and battle ready presence of prison officials.
A very senior official of the prison, who preferred anonymity, disclosed to our correspondent that some hoodlums had perfected plans to invade the Ogwashi-Uku Prisons in order to rescue one of their gang members that were currently in detention in the prison.
The source said: “The action was to take place on 31st July, but could not hold because of the vigilance put in place by the Prisons Authority in conjunction with other security agencies in the area.”
The source reassured that the security agencies were battle ready for any action that would be carried out by any gang.
