Police Investigate kidnap of CBN Governor’s wife

mrs-emefieleAbuja: The Nigeria Police Force this evening confirmed the kidnap of Mrs. Margaret Emefiele, wife of Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, but assured that the incident is being investigated.

A security source informed News Express that Mrs. Emefiele was kidnapped on Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2016, and security agencies have been working frantically to locate her since from the moment the case was reported to them.

News Express was informed that Mrs. Emefiele was kidnapped around the Edo/Delta boundary while she was coming from Lagos State. The Emefieles are from Delta State.

“Two among the police officers attached to her were shot and are presently in the hospital receiving treatment,” the source said.

The abductors are said to have made contact with their victim’s husband, demanding a huge sum as ransom.

The Police Divisions in Abudu, headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government of Edo State and Agbor, in Delta State, say they are investigating the abduction.
