ABOH/Nigeria: Unsuspecting hoodlums had shot and killed a police corporal attached to the Ashaka Police Station in Ndokwa East of the state on the early morning of Monday October 23, 2017.
According to our source, the police corporal was killed in his resident by the hoodlums who stormed the house in the night.
Though information reaching our newsroom could not identify what could had led to the killing, but it could not be unconnected to a revenge killing by members of a cult group who their members who were arrested for act of rape and cult activities escaped and ran into the Ashaka river where they got drowned, early in the week.
Recently the police in Ashaka busted some criminal gangs who were in the process of initiating some persons into their group, and a case of rape was also laid against one Justice Opone and his friend, Alfred.
The police getting the report acted, but the two arrested suspects escaped with handcuffs and ran into the river, and were drowned.
According to police source in Ashaka, no arrest had been made but they are working towards arresting those who carried out the killing.
Confirming the incident to Ndokwa Reporters, the state police Spokesman, Mr. Andrew Nwamaka said investigation is on to unravel what led to the killing.
