Principal Pleads Community Assistance In Schools Development

ONITCHA/Nigeria: Infrastructural development and administrative Management in Schools should not be left alone to the State Government.

The Principal of Onicha Ugbo Mixed secondary school in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs Magdalene Okonkwo stated this during an interactive session with our correspondent in her office.

Mrs Okonkwo who reiterated that the people of Onicha Ugbo had abandoned the  some critical needs of the school to the hands of the State Government alone, emphasized that there was nowhere schools were developed and managed alone without the impute of the Host community.

The Principal frowned at the incessant vandalism of the the school properties by hoodlums which she stated had continued unabated.

Mrs Okonkwo used the medium to call on the Old Girls Association of the school to rise up and help in the development of the school, just as she reminded the people of Onicha Ugbo that the school was the only Government Secondary School in the community, therefore efforts should be intensified to Particularly assist in providing Security in the school.

Also, she enjoined the Old Boys of the Saint Pius Xth Grammar School, Onicha Ugbo to extend the hands of fellowship to the school by assisting in any capacity they could, bearing in mind that St Pius was now owned and Managed by the Catholic Mission.

While stressing that the school were in dire need of both teaching and non-teaching staff, she appealed to the State Government to Post more teachers.
