Prison Inmates Tasks On Positive Use Of Skills, Good Conduct

AGBOR/Nigeria: The Secretary to the Government of Delta State (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie, has charged prison inmates to make good use of skills being acquired while on confinement.

Mr Ebie gave the charge when he visited the Correctional Centre, Agbor, to celebrate his 50th birthday anniversary with inmates of the centre, where he donated gifts items, food and others consumables.

The SSG, represented by Chief Hilary Agholor, expressed delight and gratitude to God for preservation of life, saying, “I feel really fortunate to be alive, it is a special moment in my life and I am grateful to God.”

Mr Ebie, the immediate past Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, admonished the inmates especially those that would soon be released to turn a new leaf, by not going back into crime and other vices that would bring them back to the center.

“Make positive use of the skills you acquired in the centre, most importantly, you must continue to look unto God,” he said.

On his part, the keeper of the correctional centre, Mr Matthew Daerego, thanked the SSG for remembering them on his birthday.

He noted that the celebrant was a man of honour and philanthropist whose love for the people was immeasurable.

“Mr Ebie has been a regular caller. We love you and our prayers are for you and your family to continue to prosper and be in health,” he stated.

The highpoints of the occasion were prayer and sessions, and cutting of the birthday cake.
