From the quiet serene roots of Utagba Uno, in the proud land of Ndokwa Nation of Delta State, budded a man whose life has been defined by knowledge, vision, service, and human capital mentorship.

Mr. Godwin O. Ossai, the deputy Governorship Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), was a product of St. Kizito’s Grammar School (1972). He grew from very humble beginnings into one of Nigeria’s most distinguished academics, personnel and economics consultant, and a profound leader of thought.

As a University Don, Mr. Ossai left indelible footprints in the sands of academia. His lecture halls became seed beds and nurseries of greatness, producing bank Chief executives, managing directors, distinguished federal legislators, captains of industry and leaders in diverse fields.

Mr Ossai’s passion for service and mentorship transcended the classrooms. It spilled into entrepreneurship mentoring, management consulting, financial advisory, business process transformation, change, turnaround management, and the design of development policies that touched both private enterprise and public governance.

A man of many sides – his heart also beats for Entertainment, Christian evangelism, and Public Policy Analysis; weaving together the worlds of intellect, faith, and socio-culture.

Godwin studied Economics at the premier University of Ibadan, where he obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. In the early 1980s, he became a pioneer lecturer at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University) Ekpoma. and later at Novena University, Ogume.

His scholarly interests — mathematical economics, econometrics, macroeconomic forecasting, development economics, and operations research — reflected a mind committed to precision, foresight, and transformation.

Beyond the academia, he besieged the global stage, joining the international consulting firm Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as a Management Consultant.

He craved for a banking career and his journey led him into mainstream blue chip banking. He joined Standard Trust Bank (now UBA Plc) and rose to become General Manager and Regional Director. He was also a General Manager at Access Bank Plc.

An alumnus of the prestigious International Institute of Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland, Mr. Ossai continues to marry scholarship with leadership. He is Founder and Chairman of First Business Academy and Managing Director/CEO of Corel Consulting Limited.

Through these platforms, he mentors young Nigerian professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders — shaping tomorrow with wisdom earned from decades of excellence.

Mr. Ossai is not only a builder of institutions but also a cultivator of minds and souls. A much sought-after public speaker and an expert trainer in human capacity development. He is celebrated as a thinker with a fine academic mind, yet blessed with an amiable social charm.

When he unwinds, it is in the company of music of diverse genres, the artistry of drama, the rhythm of dance, the thrill of football, and the serenity of books — especially those steeped in biblical truth and rare philosophy.

His tastes in automobiles reflect his refined personality – Mercedes-Benz and Lexus stand as his trusted companions on the road of life.

Above all, Godwin O. Ossai is a consummate family man, happily married, blessed with four children. He resides in the bourgeoning city of Asaba, capital of Delta State. His story is not just a resume, it is a testament to vision, resilience, and a life dedicated to building both people and nations.
