Prove Yourself as Capable Oppositions, Abe Advises Political Parties

ASABA/Nigeria: The Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Inter Party Affairs, Mr. Moses Abe has flayed the over bloated civil service in Delta State, even as he called on political parties in the state to indulge in constructive criticism of the state government.

Speaking in an interactive section with representatives of political parties in the state, Abe said the opposition party in Delta State must live up to expectations by engaging the ruling PDP in constructive criticism and not the falsehood some political parties have been trading with in the recent past.

While tracing the causes of current recession in the country to low demand for Nigeria oil, amidst ethnic agitation as well as prevailing anger in the country, the SA, noted that the problems of Governor Okowa was further compounded by the over bloated work force in the state is well over 60,000.

“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa meant well for you and you must not allow yourself to be used by any person or group to fight the government or heat up the polity unnecessarily.

In her contribution, Mrs. Oluremi Mohamed, the Chairperson and governorship candidate of the Peoples For Democratic Change (PDC) in 2015 general election, advised the opposition parties to stop looking up to the governor’s grants for survival, even as she urged them to also refrain from adopting candidates for governorship position.

She stated that such attitudes make the opposition parties look as if they are beggers and called on them to engage in grassroots mobilization so as government will see them as credible oppositions capable of providing alternative to their style of governance.
