Public Primary, Secondary Schools In Delta Write Promotion Exams

ASABA/Nigeria: In adherence with its 2021/2022 academic calendar, public primary and secondary schools in Delta State have commenced promotion examinations across the state.

The two Commissioners in charge of Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu and Chief Sunny Onoriode together with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Augustine Oghoro monitored the examinations separately in different parts of the state.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Augustine Oghoro described the conduct of the examination as successful.

Mr. Oghoro, who stated that the Ministry was satisfied that examinations materials were sufficient, noted that there was no shortage of question papers.

He said that third term examinations was always very important and should be taken seriously by all pupils and students, adding that there was enough time for them to prepare for the examinations.

Mr. Oghoro stated that it was only when they prepared well for the examinations that they could stand chance of performing brilliantly, stressing that they should  embrace reading culture at all times.

The Education PS reiterated the Ministry’s determination to improve in the conduct of all examinations in the state.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu said that the monitoring was a routine exercise by the ministry to ensure that there was no hitches.

For his part, the State Commissioner for Primary Education, Chief Sunny Onoriode advised primary school teachers in the state to always put in their best for the overall benefits of the state.

While expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the promotion / third term examinations, Mrs. Ezewu and Chief Onoriode said that there was need for all stakeholders to contribute their quotas towards improving the standard of education in the state just as they urged the pupils and students to always approach every examination with seriousness through dedication to their studies.

Recall that the promotion examinations which would end on Friday, July 22, 2022 also saw other officials of the Ministry including.tje Director of Examinations and Standard, Mr. Sunday Egomagwuna,  Director of Schools, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah and the Director of Quality Assurance and Inspectorate, Comr. Ernest Ossai , Director of Education Resource Centre, Pastor (Mrs.) Joy Biyibi-Godson , Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Anthony Akponovo ,  Director of Science Education, Mrs. Kehinde Oderhowho as well as the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in the 25 Local Government Areas of the state  among others  monitored the examinations.
