ASABA/Nigeria: Ifeanyi Okowa has called on political leaders in the three tiers of government to rededicate their lives to the service of God and humanity.
Governor Okowa who was speaking today at the Asaba Manna Mountain Crusade said if leaders at all levels could take out time to re-examine their relationship with God, the nation would manifest its great potentials.
He said clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers across the country was having an adverse effect on the economy especially in food production and called for prayers from genuine Christians if the problem must be tackled successfully.
Governor Okowa reassured Deltans that the state’s economy was improving as a result of prayers of believers and prudent management of resources, and enjoined all to pray and work towards sustaining the existing peace.
The Governor said government was doing its best to deliver democracy dividends to the people, pointing out when those in positions of authority walk closely with God they would be able to accomplish greater feats and leave behind lasting legacies.
He said the hosting of the Manna Mountain Crusade in the state had brought immense blessings to the people especially in the salvation of souls, and enjoined the organisers not to relent as God was set to do greater miracles in the lives of Deltans.
While calling on Christians to humble themselves and pray for peace and unity in Nigeria in general and Delta State in particular, Governor Okowa said his administration was founded on Christ and would not compromise its resolve to commit the affairs of the State to God.
The wife of the Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, who also spoke at the event, said salvation remained the greatest gift of God to mankind and called on Deltans to develop a stronger and effective relationship with their maker.
The publisher of Our Daily Manna devotional Bishop Chris Kpakpovwe described Governor Okowa as a man of integrity and a humble leader chosen by God to pilot the affairs of the state to greater heights.
He thanked the first family of the state for identifying with the ministry and enjoined Christians the world over to pray for those in positions of authority to enable them carry out the mandate of God for their administration successfully.
