OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The youths of Ndokwa have been admonished that they will get real empowerment, by acquiring the relevant skills through training.
The admonition was given recently by Engr. Philip Chukwumah Ugbomah, the Managing Director/CEO of CPU Construction LLT Nigeria Limited, Chairman of CPU Foundation, and Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Project Monitoring, during a one-day workshop organised by an Ndokwa Youth body, the Ikolobie Ndokwa, held in Obiaruku.
Engr. Philip Ugbomah who was one of the Guest Speakers, stated that for any youth to be assisted, he or she must show the ability to succeed in life, pointing out that the continuous lamentation of the youths of the area, is because many had not deemed it fit to get the relevant training, which is a very vital tool for modern society.
He stated that for him, as a Local Content Engineer, he had been empowered through his preparation to succeed after university education, encouraging them to do same as they engage in politics, and not only to follow political leaders, or relying of the few certificate they had acquired, without relevant skills.
“I had been empowered, because I prepared myself for this. I will also advice you to do same, prepare yourselves as you go about following our leaders who are in government, appointed or elected. It will do you much good, or instead of relying on the few certificates will had gathered, let us get skills.”
He pointer that even in the scripture, the place of empowerment or human capital development is well emphasised by the creator, which demonstrates the importance of skill acquisition.
“The Bible said, that I will bless the work of your hands. In all the passage in the bible, human capital development was mentioned. The bible made emphasise on skills. So we have to key into it, and help the government to succeed. When will do this we will better for it. He said.
