ASABA/Nigeria: Wife of the Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa has advised widows to remarry rather than indulging in extra marital affairs.

Dame Okowa who was represented by the member of Christian Widows Ministry, Mrs Beatrice Ikenga, gave the advise during the second annual Widow Conference of God’s Glory Evangelical International Ministry in conjunction with Godly Widows Intercessory Prayer Network with the theme God,  ‘the husband to the widows’, at Asaba, the state capital.

She said that since it was scriptural in the Bible, it would be the right decision for them to take, instead of allowing their bodies to be abused because of the challenges they may face.

She enjoys widows to be faithful and always pray so as to be blessed by God.

In the same vein, the state Coordinator of the International Coalition of Clergies, Bishop Obiajulu Obiajulu admonished the widows to be ready to give account of their doings on earth, adding that there was no widow in heaven.

Obiajulu urged them not to turn beggars because of the death of their husbands, rather they should continue to uphold the legacy he left behind.

In his word, the Host, Pastor Emmanuel Nwankwo charged the widows to look up to God as their helper and not man.

Nwankwo urged them not to be seen as indigents on the society, as they were not alone.

On her part, a philanthropist, Mrs Thelma Monye tasked well meaning Deltans to channel their resources towards helping the widows as there was more blessings in giving.

Speaking on her experience as a widow, Mrs. Ukpabia Augustina said though it was not easy losing her husband, but when she turned to God by becoming part of the Godly Widows Intercessory Prayer Network, so much blessings and joy had filled her heart.
