AGBOR/Nigeria: Two notorious armed robbers who have been terrorizing the Alihame community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have been nabbed by some residents.
An eyewitness account has it that the hoodlums met their waterloo when they tried to rob a middle aged man at gunpoint at the front of his house along Board Road in Alihame in the evening of yesterday.
According to our sources, the man (name withheld) was standing at the entrance of his residence when a motorcycle rider with an occupant rode past him but suddenly ran towards him.
We learned that one of the alleged arm robbers then pointed a gun at his ribs ordering him to lead him inside his compound while his partner took a move away posture with his bike engine on.
But instead, the victim decided to raise an alarm by shouting thereby attracting the attention of the neighborhood who later overpowered the two miscreants.
The suspects who gave their names as Christopher and Jacob were later handed over to the men of the Nigeria Police in Agbor Divisional headquarters.
Sources close to the police revealed that a cut to size locally made gun and one live cartridge was recovered from them.
It was also disclosed that the case has been transferred to the State Headquarters for further investigations.
