PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: In a heartfelt message marking the 2024 International Women’s Day, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has lauded the global community of women for their remarkable contributions. Underlining their significance as “unique creations” and “formidable assets,” Governor Fubara emphasized their pivotal role in advancing peace and prosperity within societies.
In a statement signed by Boniface Onyedi, his Senior Special Assistant on media the Governor acknowledged the unwavering support of Rivers women towards his administration.
He urged them to persist in their efforts, emphasizing the importance of their prayers for the state’s peace and their nurturing roles in combatting moral degradation.
In emphasizing the indispensable role women play in societal development, Governor Fubara reiterated his administration’s dedication to prioritizing women’s empowerment and their active engagement in governance.
He underscored the alignment of his administration’s focus with this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Inspire Inclusion,” highlighting the slogan, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” as particularly relevant in the present context.
