UDU/Nigeria: The Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Warri Local Government Area Branch’A’ Comrade Francis Ogbeni has bemoaned the constant traffic jam on Udu Road by Jigbale Market and Udu Bridge ( Udu Local Government Area side ) both in Ovwian Community.
Ogbeni who resides in Udu Local Government Area spoke to our correspondent on the issue at his office in Warri on Wednesday 18th May, 2022.
He complained that driving on the said areas of the road during rush hours was a nightmare.
Ogbeni identified the causes of the constant traffic holdups to the deplorable state of the road and the bridge.
He also identified unlawful parking of vehicles particularly at Jigbale Market one of the causes of constant gridlock.
He therefore called on the relevant authorities rehabilitate the bridge down to DSC Express Junction including the Ovwian Roundabout (popularly called Orhuwhorun Junction) on the Udu Road.
Ogbeni however commended government traffic agents and volunteer traffic control agents for their efforts in ensuring free flow of traffic on the said areas of Udu Road.
